Welcome to the Department of Water Resources Bay-Delta Office
Proposition 84 Program website.
The purpose of this website is to provide background and information
on the purpose, status, schedule, guidelines and grant application process
for the Proposition 84 funded Delta, San Joaquin and Sacramento Rivers
Water Quality Grant program.
What's New

Funding for this program may become available as a result of the October/November
2009 bond sales. The status of funding is currently not known.
The final guidelines and the proposal solicitation package (PSP) for Group
I (Delta Region Projects) were released on July 13, 2010. The projects
eligible for funding under the Group I – Delta Region Projects PSP
are uniquely identified in Public Resources Code 75029(d) and in SB X2
1 as projects described in the June 2005 Delta Region Drinking Water Quality
Management Plan. The links to the final guidelines and Group I PSP are
found below under the heading 'Grant Guidelines and Application
Process'.
An informational workshop for the Group I –Delta Region Projects PSP will be held on July 29, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The meeting location is 1416 Ninth Street, Sacramento, in Room 210. Applications for the Group I PSP must be postmarked no later than August 13th or received via personal submission by the close of business on August 13th, 2010. Applications should be sent to Genevieve Schrader at the contact information found below under ‘Contact Us.’
Background
For Proposition 84, in Chapter 2, Section 75029, the sum of
$130 million shall be available to the Department for grants to implement
Delta water quality improvement projects that protect drinking water supplies.
Eligible projects are: a) Projects that reduce or eliminate discharges
of salt, dissolved organic carbon, pesticides, pathogens and other pollutants
to the San Joaquin River; b) Projects that reduce or eliminate discharges
of bromide, dissolved organic carbon, salt, pesticides and pathogens from
discharges to the Sacramento River; c) Projects at Franks Tract and other
locations in the Delta that will reduce salinity or other pollutants at
agricultural and drinking water intakes; and d) Projects identified in
the June 2005 Delta Region Drinking Water Quality Management Plan, with
a priority for design and construction of the relocation of drinking water
intake facilities for in-delta water users.
