The following report on the Temporary Barriers Project is for your information and action, as appropriate. This report will be transmitted whenever changes occur to the operation of the barriers, and as a result of modeling and/or field monitoring of water levels in the south Delta.
STATUS AS OF: November 16 , 2007
The HOR barrier was breached November 9. The culverts, culvert gravel pad, and the center portion of the barrier have been removed. Small points on the north and south side remain and will be completely removed after the Thanksgiving holiday.
Agricultural Barriers (Old River near Tracy [ORT], Middle River [MR], Grant Line Canal [GLC]):
The removal of the ORT and GLC barriers began on November 5 and November 6 respectively, with breaches occurring the following days. The GLC barrier center weir has been removed and crews continue to work on the boat ramp. The ORT weir and culverts have been removed and crews continue working on removing the last 20% of the boat ramp. The MR barrier will be breached on November 27. All in-water work will be completed before November 30, 2007.
