The Department has recently completed a study titled, “Historical Operation Study”. This study uses CALSIM II model and simulates operations of State Water Project and Central Valley Project through the historical conditions of water years 1975-1998. A technical memorandum report summarizing the key findings of the study is under preparation and planned to be released by end of September, 2003. A Sensitivity Analysis study is also being initiated by the Department to evaluate critical inputs to the model for providing an insight as to how sensitive they are to the SWP-CVP system south of delta delivery capability; and to provide guidance for the future refinements to the modeling effort. In addition under the auspicious of California Bay-Delta Authority Science Board, a more formal peer-review of the model has been underway by the leading academics and practitioners in the field. Also a Science Board sponsored survey of the stakeholders has just been completed, compiling their views and opinions on CALSIM II model.
